MATCON 2026 – A National Conference on Procurement and Inventory Management
As part of the thanksgiving celebrations marking 75 years of stewardship by the Materials Department, Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore, MATCON 2026, a National Conference on Procurement and Inventory Management, was held on 14 August 2026 at the Scudder Auditorium, Bagayam.
The conference brought together healthcare administrators, procurement professionals, supply chain managers, faculty members, researchers, students, industry representatives, and delegates from across the country for a day of learning, collaboration, fellowship, and thanksgiving.
Participation from Across the Country
MATCON 2026 attracted over 700 participants from more than 50 colleges, institutions, and mission hospitals across the country. The conference facilitated both onsite and virtual participation, enabling a wider exchange of knowledge and experience.
Staff members, former staff, delegates, and professionals from diverse healthcare institutions came together to reflect on the evolving landscape of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supply chain systems in healthcare.

Representatives from the Healthcare Management and Associated Professionals (HMAP) Section of the Christian Medical Association of India (CMAI) addressed the gathering and highlighted the association’s initiatives, contributions, and role in strengthening healthcare management and professional collaboration.
Reflecting on 75 Years of Materials Management
A special session traced the evolution and significant developments of Materials Management at CMC Vellore over the past 75 years.
The session reflected on the department’s journey, its growth and transformation, and its continued contribution to the institution’s mission through effective procurement, inventory management, and support services.
Panel Discussion: Strategic Supply Chain and Crisis Management
A panel discussion on “Strategic Supply Chain and Crisis Management” brought together experts and representatives from healthcare administration, nursing, supply chain management, and institutional support services.
The discussion focused on strengthening supply chain resilience, preparedness, coordination, and strategic responses during times of crisis.
